We are excited to be able to offer a
Meat CSA
available to all our fellow Virginians!
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a personal relationship between you and us, your local farmers. It is basically a "food club", in which you pay up front for a season’s worth of fresh meat, grown right here on our farm. The assurance that you are purchasing 13 biweekly deliveries of fresh meat enables us to make plans, manage animals, and prepare fields for the upcoming year, while providing your family with varied choices for hearty, wholesome meals.

Lisa Moussalli, from Frog Bottom Farm CSA, was instrumental in the design of this page. They also operate a family farm CSA, and are an excellent source for quality, fresh produce!

Here are some reasons to join the
Auburnlea Farms CSA:
Taste: We raise all our animals with utmost care and proper nutrition so that the beef is finished with marbling for taste without excess fat. We have them processed by experienced and skilled processors, where your beef is Dry Aged, cut to perfection, and each cut is individually vacuum packed.
Cost: You will spend less for quality meats than you would in a typical grocery store trip, and you will be able to get more than one meal from the larger cuts of beef and whole poultry.
Peace of Mind: You can know that your family is provided with safe, naturally produced and carefully processed meats. We intensively graze our cattle and poultry on over 200 acres, and we tend to each animal individually. Because we have cared for the animals from calving or chicks to finished beef or poultry, we can answer your questions about where your food comes from and how it was raised.
Economy: When you buy directly from an owner-operated CSA like ours, we’re able to keep farming full-time. The money you invest in our farm is reinvested locally, as we pay for repairs, animal feed, and farm mainenance. The local rural and urban economies are strengthened.
Convenience: Pick up your food at the farm or at a convenient central location. Each cut of beef is individually vacuum packed for safety as well as ease in storage and preparation.
Fun: As you try new recipes and cook old favorite dishes, you’ll learn how the meats are raised, processed, and about the different available cuts. If you choose to come for a visit, your family can learn what a real working farm is like.
As soon as possible, fill out a Registration Form and make payment arrangements.Starting the week of sign up, you will receive a biweekly assortment of fresh vacuum packed beef in individual cuts, and whole chickens for a total of 13 deliveries. The week of Thanksgiving, Full Share Members will also receive a premium 16-20 lb turkey in addition to your full meat share.
You may pick up your share at our farm or at a convenient drop site located in your city. Pick up sites will be determined at registration.
If you are unable to make it to a pick up, please arrange for someone else to pick up on your behalf. Any shares not picked up, will have to be donated, to be in accordance with the law.
We offer FULL shares and HALF shares.
In a FULL share, we aim to provide enough meat every other week to feed a family of four to six, for 2 weeks.
It usually will consist of 10 - 12 lbs of assorted beef cuts and 2 (avg 4 lbs ea.) whole chickens. Whole shares also receive a 16-20lb turkey the week of Thanksgiving.
A HALF share is, of course, half as much food.
With a week's notice, requests for specific meat cuts (given availability) may be substituted to meet a menu preference.
Shareholders also receive a discounted price on bulk meats for BBQ's, cookouts, and other special meal needs.
An example of a Full Share at one biweekly pick up may consist of :
A Full Share is $1,890(Equivalent to $73/week)
A Half Share is $1,040
(Equivalent to$40/week)
